Jeffrey provides technical support for the Centre, maintains the equipment and provides operational training. Jeffrey has a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Certificates in Electronics and Networking. He has been supporting medical education since 2006 with the Island Medical Program and various provincial simulation initiatives. Jeffrey can be reached atknightj@uvic.ca
Anna Macdonald, Manager
Anna runs day-to-day operations, coordinates research, and makes sure that the Centre is performing to the best of its capabilities. Anna is originally from New Zealand, and has a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Victoria. Anna has been involved in medical education for a number of years and believes that the simulation centre is an excellent tool for undergraduate nursing and medical students as well as for continuing education within Island Health. Darin Abbey, Director
On behalf of the three partners, Darin’s role is to assure that the Centre’s mission and values are reflected in the work that we do. As an Emergency Department Clinical Nurse Educator, Darin has galvanized his career around a passion for excellence in resuscitation, and an ongoing commitment to assuring improved clinician and patient outcomes. Central to this work is the belief that in healthcare, communication matters, and is best viewed as procedure that can be enhanced through consideration and simulation.
